OAS Helicopters:
OAS Helicopters started out rendering ad-hoc charter flights for VIPs and specialized service providers in Nigeria. Between 2006 and 2013, our main focus was onshore operations where we have flown for critical stakeholders on our economy, political leadership, corporate Nigeria and social leverages, financial institutions, construction companies, manufacturing and solid mineral exploration companies, Humanitarian Organizations, as well as breweries, product and political campaign organizations, geographical surveyors, entertainment industries etc.
We have also supported National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in locating crash and disaster sites and the distribution of relief materials to flood disaster areas. We rendered services for medical emergency outfits; hospitals and emergency services companies in Nigeria. During this period, we also undertook Banner Tow flights, the size of three-quarter of a football field, for campaign organisations in Nigeria, as well as numerous types of geographical survey with specialised helicopter mounted cameras/equipment that required STCs around the country. Due to the extensive and specialised operations undertaken, OAS was the first and only commercial helicopter operator in Nigeria, since Nigeria Independence, with the Federal government permits to operate and land civil helicopters at Nigeria’s Federal capital city of Abuja.
